Dr. Shervin Abbaszadeh, HBSC, DDS, MSC (Orthodontics), FRCD (C) - Visiting Specialist
Dr. Abbaszadeh’s philosophy is simple: create healthy, confident, beautiful smiles in a space where patients feel genuinely cared for. For him, orthodontics isn’t just about straight teeth, it’s about helping people step into the best version of themselves.
Education:
After completing his Honours Bachelor of Science in Human Biology at the University of Toronto, Dr. Abbaszadeh continued on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Dentistry. It was there, in the pre-clinic labs and late-night study sessions, that he discovered his passion for orthodontics. That passion carried him into an internship at Toronto General Hospital and ultimately back to U of T for his Orthodontic Specialty Master of Science degree.
During specialty training, one of his finished cases was selected out of all residents in North America for publication in the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, the field’s leading journal. This early recognition reinforced the standard he set for himself: to aim for work worthy of being published, even if no one is watching.
Today, Dr. Abbaszadeh is a Fellow and Examiner of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, helping evaluate the next generation of orthodontists entering the profession. He has served as a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and continues to interview applicants for admission to the University of Toronto Dental School. Teaching and mentorship remain a meaningful part of his career as a clinical instructor, lecturer, and frequent speaker to dental associations both locally and abroad, including recent invitations to lecture in Barbados.
Beyond private practice, he holds a deeply fulfilling position as staff orthodontist at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital in the Craniofacial Cleft Lip and Palate Program, treating children and teens with a range of medical and developmental challenges. This work keeps him grounded in why he chose this profession in the first place.
Professional Affiliations:
